Effusions Returns!

Last May Effusions published our first print issue since 2019! This journal was a shared effort by dedicated students elevating the work of their peers. The journal launched in the closing weeks of the spring semester with an exhibition of featured work in the Lobby Gallery of the Art Building and a party with snacks and free issues.

As always, we are also publishing this issue online, which is available both below and in our Archives (linked above). We hope you enjoy Effusions 2023, and we look forward to the continued success of the journal!

The 2020-2021 Issue

Effusions presents: The 26th volume of Miami University’s journal that showcases art from students of all grade levels and backgrounds.

A note from our Editor-in-Chief, Aubrey Woodard:

With the continuation of the global pandemic, I am proud to present Effusions’ second annual online journal. Despite challenges that students have faced within the past year, they have continued to create. There is no better way to celebrate than to compile all of these works into a publication. Having to hold Effusions meetings via Zoom from remote locations, it just made sense to present the 2020-2021 journal in an online format, just as we did last year. Through this option of publication, we have made the journal accessible to anyone and everyone, whether they are located on or away from campus.

I could not have completed this journal without the help of our graphic designer, Emily Drexelius, and our editor Sydney Herrick. Additionally, I would like to thank Dr. Annie Dell’Aria as a mentor, professor, and Effusions advisor during this past year, as the journal would not be possible without her guidance.

I am honored to have been the Editor-In-Chief of Effusions this past year, and I look forward to seeing many more online and physical editions of Effusions in years to come. We hope you enjoy what Miami students have worked so hard to present.
